Science and Technology Group
STG is a 501 © (3) non-profit corporation founded in November of 2001 that promotes technology education for students k-12. They do this through experiential learning and partnerships with workplace technical professionals, primarily scientists and engineers. STG provides infrastructure, preparation, and other support to assist volunteer technical professionals in their relations with students in a distinct area of service.
The current objective of STG is quite straightforward, they want to get students excited about subjects such as science, math, and technology. They accomplish these goals by getting the students active and interested in the competitive programs offered through the FIRST program. STG works hard to use science based competitions as a channel to involve technical professionals in the education process. They do this in order to reach all students and make it possible for systematic changes in science and technology education. STG also does its best to reach out to all parts of the student population who are not as represented as many others in science and technology.
